The location of this place is pretty bad as far as Baltimore hotels go. And these unappealing microwavable cold sandwiches. No where near as good as the Salt Lake Home2. The breakfast is about as basic as it gets. I unplugged it and tried to move it closer to the sink to manage the mess but it was too hot to pick up. The coffee maker didn't work as the coffee couldn't drain into the pot and it started to boil over making noises that sounded like it was about to explode. The windows could be opened but they've been bolted closed. However, they told me they could 'Febreze' the room. I went to the front desk to see if there were any other rooms but there weren't. Especially in the bathroom and near the bed. As a lot of the reviewers noted, my room reeked of cigarette smoke. So, good luck getting any food for your kitchen: pack your own food and soap. And a Safeway a mile or so north of the hotel. There's also a kitchen but this city is devoid of grocery stores in the downtown area. ![]() There's also free laundry machines here but bring your own soap because they don't sell any. Heed all of the advice: STAY ON THE NORTH SIDE! The internet speeds are painfully slow. To think I was concerned about avoiding the ice machine noise. It sound like they're running a massive generator inside. There's also this noise coming from inside the building. The right half of that building is a solid monolithic wall and the building itself blocks out every ray of sun. The view from the 12th floor in even numbered rooms is of this awful Soviet-style building. I thought the south side on the 12th floor would still get nice southern sun exposure. In the 'room tips' for this hotel, there are many suggestions to stay on a high floor on the north side of the hotel (odd numbered rooms). So I didn't think twice about staying at another Home2. TERRIBLE staff, TERRIBLE rooms, TERRIBLE stay.I had a stay at the Home2 in Salt Lake City a year ago and had a great room. The counters were all coming apart from the wood underneath (which sagged down and we were afraid to put anything on those counters for fear that WE would be blamed when they finally broke). The shades on the bed-side lamps all hung at odd angles (they were clearly broken). OH - and did I mention that this suite was pathetic? I'll start with what we found hilarious - for silverware, we had 1 fork, 2 spoons, and 6 knives (and yes, we checked inside the dishwasher). ![]() Apparently this is how they treat their "VALUED" Hilton Honors members (I'm Diamond). It's now Tuesday and no one has reached out. ![]() I provided my contact information and asked that they have someone call me. Sunday morning I went to the front desk to complain - was told that there was no manager on staff on Sunday. It was very clear that the hotel was either too lazy to really deal with it or they valued those guests over guests like me that were courteous of others. There were numerous complaints by numerous guests about these people. None of these people were kicked out of the hotel. AGAIN complained and again the same result (they finally got quiet at 3am). Night #2 - neighbors at the other end of the hall did the same with the noise and doors slamming. Complained and staff came up to talk to them, but noise continued. Night #1 - neighbors 2 doors down were slamming doors and yelling, etc until 2am.
